How hard is it to plan a wedding if you’re not local to the area?: Planning a wedding from out of town can feel a bit overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. We’re here to make the process smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. With a trusted network of local vendors and a supportive community behind us, we’ll help you pull everything together; no matter where you’re planning from.
What’s your best piece of advice for couples? Either during the planning process or day-of.: Planning a wedding can feel like juggling a million tiny details, but here’s the thing: it’s not about perfection, it’s about the moments that matter. Don’t stress over every little touch. Instead, focus on what truly counts: celebrating love and creating unforgettable memories with your favorite people. And remember, you don’t have to figure everything out all at once. Break it down into small, manageable tasks and lean on your wedding/vendor team (that’s what we’re here for!). Take a deep breath, enjoy the process, and let the day unfold in its perfectly imperfect beauty. Everything else? It’ll fall into place.
What are some of your favorite things on the menu?: My favorite hors d’oeuvre? Hands down, our fried chicken bao bun … it's the perfect bite of crispy, fluffy goodness. And while it’s technically a side dish, our butternut squash risotto deserves the spotlight. I usually can’t stand squash and even I’m obsessed.
What is one of your favorite places to show couples on a tour of Kimpton Gray?: One of my favorite spots to show couples on a tour is the grand staircase, just inside the La Salle Street entrance. With its art-deco elevators and striking Georgia Gray marble, it’s a showstopper! It’s also one of the most popular spots for a first look, which makes it even more meaningful. I love watching couples start to imagine themselves there, filled with excitement and anticipation of seeing their partner for the first time as they share that quiet, magical moment before this next chapter of their story begins.
What’s the most overlooked detail couples should plan for?: Once the party wraps up, there are still a few details to take care of, like gathering decor, signage, personal items, and making sure cards and gifts are safely packed up. Designating a few trusted friends or family members ahead of time to help with these tasks can make the end of the night go much more smoothly. Having a plan in place means you can relax and enjoy every moment, knowing everything is being taken care of behind the scenes.
